Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids are vital components of human and animal nutrition. These are essential components of most of the animal feed. Though these fatty acids are found in plant products, the fish oils are the best source of the omega 3 molecules as fish oil has easy bio-absorption qualities. Some of the vegetable oils like coconut oil and palm oil solidify at room temperature, whereas the animal fats are generally solids at room temperature like beef tallow, lard, egg yolk, butter and ghee. The solidifying property is due to the saturation of the carbon atoms in the fatty acids and on the other hand the occurrence of oils in liquid form is due to the presence of unsaturated fatty acids.
